Privacy Policy

Effective October 29, 2026.

The short version: Dusktune has no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of its own. What you watch stays on your device.

What stays on your device

Your watch history, queue, playback positions, recent searches, and settings are stored only in your browser, on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them. They are never sent to our server.

Optional Google sign-in

Sign in only if you want your YouTube playlists, liked videos, and subscriptions in the Library. The permission is read-only. Your sign-in token lives in your browser session and only ever goes to Google’s servers. You can sign out anytime, or revoke access in your Google Account.

Search

Your search text goes to our server, which asks YouTube and returns the results. Results are cached briefly (a few minutes) to speed up repeat searches. We don’t keep a record of who searched for what.

Watching videos

Videos play in YouTube’s official player. Google and YouTube may collect information and show ads as described in Google’s Privacy Policy and YouTube’s Terms of Service. That is their doing, not ours — we add no tracking of our own.

Phone Remote

Your pairing codes and play commands pass through our server’s temporary memory so your phone can control the screen. They expire within hours and are never stored permanently. Anyone who sees your code can control playback until it expires.

Hosting

The site runs on our server, behind Cloudflare. Like most websites, the server and Cloudflare keep standard technical logs to keep the site running and secure. We don’t use them to profile you.

Nothing else

No analytics, no ads of our own, no sale of data, no sharing beyond what this page describes.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the date above will change. Questions? See our Contact page.
